Paranormal Activity 4 Review

Paranormal Activity 4

2012
Rated: R
B.J.Rated: PG-13

It has been five years since the disappearance of Katie and Hunter, and a suburban family witness strange events in their neighborhood when a women and a mysterious child move in.

I have to say this one was better than I expected and what all the other critics have said.
I do agree that I think the last 3 were a bit more jumpier but this one is just as creepy as the first 3 films.

This movie has parts where it will make you jump and make you say holy S*!?
So it starts out classic where someone is filming for no good reason. I love it how all the Paranormal's don't really say why they are filming or show you want makes them start filming. Except for the first Paranormal Activity they start filming because they start seeing weird things happen.

Anyways back to the movie at hand, I do recommend this for a fun Halloween movie to see with your friends. It was very fun to watch and entertaining as well. As the ones before this one, they are all setting up the next one. And if you have seen any of the Paranormal Activities expect to see the same stuff just in a different setting. Nothing new here other than faces.

But If you do want a fun or a Halloween movie to watch you may want to watch this one, but I don't recommend buying it thou.

The Devils Rejects Review

The Devils Rejects Review

2005
Rated: R
B.J.Rated: R

The murderous, backwoods firefly family takes to the road to escape a vengeful police force which isn't afraid to be as ruthless as their targets!

This film definitely tops its prequel House of 1000 Corpses! IT IS A SAVAGELY WILDLY WRITTEN PIECE OF WORK THAT WILL HAVE YOUR JAW DROP!
Like the one before the same crazy as hell family literally speaking just gets crazier and crazier doing anything necessary to stay out of jail and out of police view.

Rob Zombie did a better job writing and directing this one. I enjoyed this one more than the one before. It is more composed and not so raw if you know what I mean.
After watching this killing mess you will be shocked and most likely think differently about road trips and who you talk to.

I would rent and also buy this film. It is to give you a reality check scare! Thou I dont know if I would recommend it for a date night........... yeah probably not I would stay away from this one.

House of 1000 Corpses Review

House of 1000 Corpses

2003
Rated: R
B.J. Rated: R

Two teenage couples traveling across the backwoods of Texas searching for urban legends of Murder end up as prisoners of a bizarre and sadistic back water family of serial killers.

One of Rob Zombies first films, start out with a few kids going on a road trip to find weird road side attractions to put in their book their writing. What they don't expect would of definitely been a great book to write........ But do they even get to start writing the book?

Damn is the only word I can use to describe what you are going into. DAMN!!! Rob Zombie does not hold back any punches in this first film of a double feature.
To start of its hard to see a purpose of watching this film really only other than seeing what happens in the end and or for the horror?
I even started questioning myself while watching this..... there seems to be no plot really just murder and weird parties that make them feel what they are doing is somehow normal or right?

But of course you cant stop watching it because your just waiting to see what can be worse than the last five minutes. That being said I did like that fact that it was a very different kind of horror movie. More in the reality realm of like WOW THIS COULD REALLY HAPPEN LIKE TOMORROW...... I just hope I never run into them ya know!

This movie is not for the faint of heart of for people who get grossed out easily.
Be warned and don't tell me I didn't warn you!

Taken 2 Review

Taken 2

2012
Rated: PG-13
B.J. Rated: PG-13

In Istanbul, retired CIA operative Bryan Mills and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper mills killed while rescuing his daughter.

They pissed Liam Neeson off again!
Why do they keep trying to do this? He just wrecks through all of them like a wrecking ball!
The movie was so awesome. I am still debating if it was better than the first but it was a great sequel.

He brings in new techniques and gadgets to defeat the scum that are after him! Nothing is a repeat besides the taking part from the first film......... well and a few other obvious parts. But other than that still very entertaining and very fun to watch.

Taken 1 and Taken 2 are definitely movies you will want to add to your collection.
And even learn some tricks just in case you ever get taken???

Grave Encounters Review

Grave Encounters

2011
Rated: R
B.J Rated: R

B.J. Rated R for language.

For their ghost hunting reality show, a production crew lock themselves inside an abandoned mental hospital that supposedly haunted - and it might just prove to be.

I was expecting A LOT more, just because it got hyped up. But overall it was a good scare. It is different from all your other ghost movies. IT has some twist that you would not be expecting.
And it also has some spots that will just make you jump like you got electrocuted.

I enjoyed watching this since we are ghost hunter enthusiests. And they did a well job in making it look like it was real...... well you know for the most part. We all know none of the movies you see are really real, not after the Blair Witch Project.

Back to the subject at hand, I do recommend this film for a night scare or a date night. This will for sure get the girl or guy to get closer to you :)
Enjoy!

The Collector Review

The Collector

2009
Rated: R
B.J.Rated: R

Desperate to repay his debt to his ex-wife, an ex-con plots a heist at his new employers country home unaware that a second criminal has also targeted the property, and rigged it with a series of deadly traps..... Real freaking deadly!

One of the best horror films I have seen in years. This is original and very entertaining to watch.

Its so intense when it starts going and the night just gets darker and darker. Things happen that you never thought were possible. It makes me never want to bring any one over to work on my house. Specially if I was rich.

After watching this movie I was sitting there saying there has to be a sequel.............please!
But either way, its great date night material. The ending is one that you will keep for the rest of your life!
After watching so many horror films I still hadnt seen one like this, to where it just left me an AWWW,
thinking no freaking way..................
The end.

The Bourne Legacy Review

The Bourne Legacy

2012
Rated: PG-13
B.J. Rated: PG-13

Centered on a new hero whose stakes have been triggered by the events of the previous three films

Surprisingly enough the movie was able to captivate you like the first 3 films. It is action packed with punches, twists and turns. It will take your full attention from the beginning of the movie all the way to the end! It will have you grabbing on to the arm rest in a death grip the whole time!

What I loved the most is how different the story is from the first 3 films. Sure it keeps the general idea, but its starting a whole new story all over again. If you liked the first three, this movie is a must see.

The movie is definitely one you will like to add to your collection at home!

Chernobyl Diaries Review

Chernobyl Diaries

2012
Rated: R
B.J.Rated: R

Six tourists hire an extreme tour guide who takes them to the abandoned city Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl Nuclear reactor. During their exploration, they soon discover they are not alone. So I went into this movie expecting something crazy, and that is what you get CRAZY.

This movie keeps you at the edge of your seat. Once the "poop" hits the fan there is nothing stopping this storm of suspense.

Through the whole film I was just anxious to see what "IT" was? Is it human? Is it an animal?
What was that?

You will soon find out..... get some good munchies, turn off the lights, and turn up the sound. Your in for a hell of a ride. The story behind the film makes it that more interesting, because when you are done watching this film you are going to Google the events.
This movie was definitely better than what I was expecting.

The Tall Man Review

The Tall Man

2012
Rating:R
B.J.Rating: PG-13

When her child goes missing, a mother looks to unravel the legend of the Tall Man, an entity who allegedly abducts children.

Let me start by saying the trailer is very deceiving. This movie in all definitions is not a horror film........ Do not be fooled.
I would put it in Drama/Mystery category.
The story starts off in a poor town with a lot of economic problems, at the beginning of the film you feel lost! But don't worry the end of the film will make you feel like it didn't matter.

Anyways the trailer explains pretty much everything except that it is not HORROR, besides the point you get kids missing, people crying, population starts going crazy speculation, myths, blame someone, attack!
A few jumpy scenes and it does build up pretty well but the end was a bit of a disappointment to me.
The movie is pretty good for a weeknight, but I would not recommend it for a weekend.
And this is definitely a rental from Redbox do not spend more than a dollar to see it.
